Argan Oil is mostly grown in Morocco under desert conditions. The oil is obtained from the wild grown seeds of the argan tree -Argania spinosa. Only fruits that have fallen from the tree are used in the oil production. Argan Oil sold for skin and hair care use is commonly deodorised to remove the intense odour that Argan Oil naturally possesses.

The oil features metallic and woody accents in addition to the typical rustic notes. It also offers strong persistence, and is well-suited for use in fougère fragrances and colognes.

Moroccan chamomile essential oil is a middle note steam distilled from the flowers of Omenis mixta. While not a true member of the chamomile family, the flowers resemble traditional chamomile flowers. Moroccan chamomile oil shares the sweet, fruity characteristics of other chamomile oils for perfume or aromatherapy. This middle note essential oil blends well with lavender, cypress, cedar, vetiver, and citrus oils.

Thyme oil comes from the perennial herb known as Thymus vulgaris. This herb is a member of the mint family, and it’s used for cooking, mouthwashes, potpourri and aromatherapy. Known in Morocco as za’atar, bunches of both fresh and dried thyme are a staple in an herbalist’s store. Grown in the mountains, the herb is mixed with hot water and left to stand for fifteen minutes or so in order for the leaves to infuse the water.

Some trees referred to as cedars are actually juniper trees. Both are evergreen conifers. This essential oil can be extracted via several techniques, including steam distillation, carbon dioxide distillation, and cold pressing. While it can be purchased on its own, it’s also used as an ingredient in products like insect repellent, cologne, shampoo, and deodorant.
